Richard Hayes has been a strong partner for North Texas and has delivered tangible results in Austin. From authoring legislation protecting Texas contractors and businesses working on construction projects in our state, to supporting major investments in public education and teacher pay, Richard understands the issues facing one of the fastest growing regions in America. Just as importantly to me as a local elected official, Richard understands that Austin needs to listen to the communities it represents. In municipal government we can count on Richards support. Richard represents his constituents wisely, he’s voted in favor of border security, property tax compression, and regulatory reductions for small businesses and as an attorney with decades of experience in real estate law, business litigation, and local governance, his background in property, land development, and municipal law aligns closely with the rapid suburban and commercial growth occurring specifically across HD 57.

As a former elected official, I’ve learned to study political candidates carefully. There are politicians and then there are Statesmen. I have had the pleasure of working side by side State Representative Richard Hayes over a decade, prior to his running for office. His prior service to our community was done through the prism of a Servants Heart, the true sign of a leader. Running for State representative, in my opinion, was a natural progression. I wholeheartedly supported him in his prior candidacy, and I am even more excited about his willingness to continue to serve with all that he’s done for our district.
Dianne Costa Former Mayor, Highland Village

I have known Richard for many years and have had the opportunity to serve alongside him on numerous board and for community organizations. I can tell you firsthand that he is someone who genuinely cares about people and our community. He has spent years giving both his time and financial resources to organizations and causes that make a difference in people's lives. He doesn't just talk about helping others; he shows up, gets involved, and does the work. He does it without looking for recognition or anything in return. In my experience, he is someone you can trust, someone who keeps his word, and someone who is always willing to lend a hand when there is a need.

COMMUNITY VOICES

What neighbors are saying

Personal experiences from the people Richard represents.

My wife and I have had the opportunity to get to know Richard Hayes, and what we appreciate most about him is his character and the way he approaches public service. Richard is a conservative Republican with a strong voting record, but he is also a thoughtful, rules-based person who takes the time to understand the facts, listen to different perspectives, and consider issues on their merits. He is willing to meet with any constituent, regardless of political affiliation, and genuinely hear what they have to say. As a community leader, a successful attorney, and the principal of his real estate focused law firm, Richard understands responsibility, integrity, and the importance of keeping his word. We respect that he stands firmly by his principles while treating people with courtesy and respect. To us, Richard is more than just our State Representative for HD 57 - he is a good man, a person we trust, and someone we are proud to have representing our community.
George and Jenny McCullough Community Leaders and Area Leader, President and Founder of Friends of Little Elm Animal Support Group
Rep Hayes called me directly one time after I contacted him regarding an issue with my city and spent 30 minutes giving me advice when he didn't have to. It was the first time that had ever happened from someone at that level.
Adam Peabody Constituent
I have known richard since Jr. High School here in Denton. He is honest, loyal, generous, kind, supportive, reliable and quick to help when needed. His work life and personal life reflect his conservative Christian values, including limiting power of government, and implementing political reform best for his constituents and the State of Texas. He loves God, his family, his friends, his state and this country. Keep a strong statesman in Austin - go vote and re-elect State Representative Richard Hayes November 3rd.
